Yu Duan
Graduate Student
Yu Duan is a graduate student at MIT EECS interested in advancing the understanding of the brain with the modern machine learning toolbox. In particular, he is interested in developing data-driven models of experimental neural and behavioral data or building normative models revealing the computational goals of various neural circuits. Before graduate school, he received his B. Eng. from the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences at Tsinghua University, where he worked on brain-spired learning rules in RNNs. He was also a visiting student at MIT BCS with Robert Yang. Outside the lab, he's a fan of both rock and classical music. He also enjoys relaxing in nature, playing video games, and running along the Charles River.
